THE TEDDIES

Headed up by Rock n Roll Godfather Malc “The Duke” Allured.

 

Born in Leicester 1945 he got his first drum kit aged ten at the very dawn of a new music style that was to become Rock n Roll.

His love of music and theatre led him to a job as cloakroom boy three years later at the Trocadera Ballroom where he began learning his trade including his dancing and choreography skills.

He joined the merchant marine at fifteen, then at just seventeen formed his first band “The Colorados” and never looked back.

With long time cohort Buddy Gask he formed the original “Golden Hammers” in 1964 touring Europe and the now infamous venues

on the Reeperbahn Hamburg like other luminaries of the era such as the Beatles.

Then followed a true Rock n Roll apprenticeship with many bands until reforming the “Golden Hammers” in 1973 and fatefully joining forces with Leicester’s “The Choice”

to become the supergroup “Showaddywaddy”.

During this halcyon period The “Duke” was writer, producer and/or drummer on no less than twenty three hit records, he has eight top fives to his credit

and with the timeless classic “Under the moon of Love” making No.1 in eight countries has amassed a staggering twenty million record sales worldwide.
